Above is the piece I just finished for the upcoming wood fring, it took me 3 class periods to do it and I'm not sure if I like how it turned out. There is a good chance it will break during bisque firing because I was not able to let it dry properly due to time constraints. If it doesn't break in bisque there is an even larger chance of it breaking in the wood kiln because I would like to have it placed in the firebox so it get a really crusty raw finish on it. The problem with putting work in the firebox is the heat is less even than in the rest of the kiln and people throw logs in it. Unlike a real rhino my piece would not survive getting hit by a log. I'm not sure if I like how it turned out, it is more realistic than I usually do and the strength in most my pieces really comes from their abstract forms. We'll see how it turns out... Hopefully in one piece.

I fired those bottles but one turned out 1/2 good and 1/2 uber light and the other is almost straight black. I am going to re-fire the black bottle in bisque to try and burn out the carbon so i can start over, we will see how it goes.

I made 2 fish form but I dont think either of them will turn out, well see though. I also need to make a peice for the east creek firing like now cause I need it by next weekend.

I would like to try doing a saggar firing in our electric kils cause you can get some pretty bad ass resulsts, such as this one I found on google:

I've done a lot of sketching of ideas for my next project, I have a pretty good idea of how I want it to look but I'm stuck on what to do with the tail. Its going to be a abstract fish which is turning out t0 be a fairly hard form to abstract without loosing its identity because of its already very simple. Tomorrow I am just going to bite the bullet and make it, it will turn out or it won't.

I finished applying to Alfred and I'm really curious to see if I get in, still not sure if I want to go though. It would be cool but its a big decision.

I'm sure you have all seen it but I'm really happy how my Dinosaur Teapot turned out,
After the two bottles I have started now I would like to make some fish forms, I found that motor oil (it was used, not sure if that makes a difference) soaked paper towels leaves a cool scale like pattern behind and would look really cool on a fish.
